President Skeadas Announces Award Winning Chapter Projects

President Georgia Skeadas recently announced two Chapter projects selected through the Chapter Challenge initiative that are creative, innovative, philanthropic and replicable projects for Chapters throughout the country.

The two projects that Philoptochos Chapters may choose to participate in are: The Nouna Project, coordinated with the Fairy Godmother Foundation, submitted by the Saints Constantine and Helen Church in Palos Hills, Illinois within the Metropolis of Chicago, and The Afghan Project, coordinated with Warm Up America, submitted by the Soteria Philoptochos Chapter of the Annunciation Church in Dayton, Ohio within the Metropolis of Detroit.

The Chapter Challenge initiative was implemented at the 2004 National Philoptochos Convention offering Chapters the opportunity to develop a project through their initiative that provides assistance, nurturing and care to the recipients of their work. Projects from each Metropolis were reviewed to determine their potential to become National projects and all the projects were of high merit, innovative and well thought out, committed to helping those in need.

For information on becoming involved in these projects contact the National Philoptochos Office at 212.744-4390 or philosny@aol.com
